It’s been a long time since I blogged about my business. This is due to the fact that on February 28, 2017 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After all of the tears and shock, I was determined to live life as I would if I did not have cancer.
I had chemo, 5 biopsies, 3 MRIs and 2 lumpectomies 2017. They found a second cancer, which required a mastectomy. 3 days ago I had my mastectomy.
Creating is my passion. I was not going to let cancer take that away from me. I ended up making 100 purses less in 2017 than I did in 2016. But I continued to sew, create and attend events. People told me to take a break. I didn’t want to. I didn’t want to give up what I loved.
And I am so glad I didn’t. I met SO many survivors at events. So may strangers are now friends. And I didn’t stop what I loved.
Here I am now recovering from my mastectomy. I finally posted 30 Switch Purses on my website. Working on 30 more as I heal. Cancer can take my hair, my eyelashes, my eyebrows and my breasts, but it won’t take my passion and creativity.
