'Tis the season for shopping--and supporting your small and local businesses.
This is the season that my business, as well as many others, depends on--and in order for it to be successful, it requires your support! Ever since I started my own business, I really try to find a way to support my local, small business owners. From my friends Lauren, Julie and Rita--who made their dream a reality by opening up their own hair salon (Rock, Paper, Scissors, The Salon in Perry Hall, Maryland), which is walking distance from my house--to my friend Dana, who recently lost her husband to cancer, that owns a Christmas Tree farm (Jarrettsville Nurseries in Street, Maryland), I always try to find a way to support the little guy. Small and local businesses stimulate and support their community's economy. Not only that, but you are also getting a service or a product from someone who has a passion or a dream--or maybe is carrying on a family legacy.
This holiday season, do me a favor--check out those small businesses in your area. Feed that passion and keep our dreams alive by shopping small!
